Fred Walter Vanderpoel's Obituary
Fred Walter Vanderpoel, 87, of Frisco, TX, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Fred was born in Plainview Texas, on September 19, 1935, to Charles and Ava Lee Vanderpoel. He was raised in Plainview, Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1953, and then went to SMU where he graduated in 1955, with degrees in Business Management and Accounting.
Fred married Betty Joyce Vanderpoel in 1956. They raised their three children in Richardson, TX.
He loved fishing, hunting, travel, wood-carving, reading, and playing golf.
More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 (almost 12) great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Betty, his daughter, Debra, sons David and Michael, son-in-law Gary Morrison, daughters-in-law Laura Vanderpoel, and Jaimea Vanderpoel.
Grandchildren are Charles Morrison, Lauren Robinson, Chris Morrison, Julia Morrison, James Vanderpoel, Amy Ryan, Justin Vanderpoel, Kaiden Vanderpoel, Bryce Vanderpoel, and Avery Vanderpoel. Great grandkids are Evelyn. Eleanor, Frederick, Callie, Simon, Tristan, Gavin, Miles, Mason, Olivia with Blair and Cole arriving soon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Sherman.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott and White in Plano, Tx for their kindness and care.
Rest in peace to a kind and loving husband, wonderful father, grandpa and friend. He
was an exceptional man and will be dearly missed!
