Freda Bell Lamm's Obituary
LAMM, FREDA BELL WEBSTER WOOD born on January 14, 1930, in Anna, Texas, to John Hershel and Mary Etta Roper Webster. Freda married Eugene Douglas Wood in 1947 and they had three children. Freda was always up for an adventure, both in her professional and personal life. She and Gene built successful businesses, City Vending Service in Dallas and Pipe Organ Pizza in Richardson and Houston. Freda also built another successful business, Miracle Video, with good friend Earline Cunningham Gosa. Freda traveled the world, throughout five continents. However, she always said the prettiest place she had ever seen was the snow-covered, tree-canopied road that runs along Brinlee Creek, just down the road from where she grew up in Melissa, Texas. After she retired, she learned to play bridge and ballroom dance, both pastimes she loved and she made many great friends through both. She also enjoyed fun times with the Red Hat Mamas of Rockwall’s Lakeside Village. More than anything, she loved being with family. She hosted many Christmas dinners over the years for her family, including her siblings and their families, and she looked forward to her annual “Cousins Reunion” with her Aunt Bunt Roper Hall and her cousins. Freda waged an aggressive battle with cancer over the past year, but lost the fight on June 19, 2013, at home in Rockwall, Texas. She is survived by her daughters and son in-law, Donna Bishop of Rockwall and Janis and Paul Preslar of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Rachel Aguirre of Austin, Carmy Kent of Arlington, Luke Preslar, Mark Preslar and Ruth Preslar; and her great-grandchildren, Grayden McLaughlin, Austin Aguirre and Manny Aguirre; her sister, Dorothy Verner of Lewisville and a host of wonderful family and friends. She joins in heaven, her parents; her son, Bobby Wood; siblings Billy Jack Webster, Mary Jackson, and Ann Esch; first husband, Gene Wood; and second husband, Arnold “Duff” Lamm. Services to celebrate the life of this amazing woman will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas, TX.
