Dear Aretha and family, Al and Laura Johnson heard the news about Fred from my daughter Stephanie. It was such a pleasure to live near you and to travel to Europe with you. So many wonderful memories. Fred was a wonderful friend and I admired him so much. He was a remarkable man, a wonderful husband and father. We are sorry for your loss. Al Johnson
To all the Figge Family…our sincerest sympathies on the passing of Fred. A true Patriot and dear friend. Many good times were had during our assignment at Andrews AFB. Fred now joins the heavens and has slipped the surly bonds of space. May the Lord comfort all, Fred will be sorely missed. Our Love to all, Ed & Mary Cotter/Charleston, SC
I was saddened to learn of Freddie's death. I have known Freddie since he and I were both serving in the U.S. Air Force at Travis AFB, California, in the early 1960s, where we belonged to the same Lutheran church in nearby Vacaville. Imagine my surprise some 20 years ago when who should show up for services at Bethel Lutheran in Dallas but Freddie and lovely wife, Arletta. They have been members of Bethel ever since so Freddie knew the saving faith in Jesus, his Savior. May God bless Arletta and family and give them comfort in the resurrection. To all the Figge family, we send our thoughts and prayers for you in such a difficult time. We imagine much joy and tears as you share stories and memories together because Mr. Figge brought such a great blend of humor and care toward all the people he encountered. We gladly see bits of him in my brother-in-law, Bryan, and wish you comfort in that legacy that lives on in the lives of others in this close and loving family. Remembering him with many smiles. -Diane and the extended Christman Family

I was saddened to learn of Freddie's death. He and I were very close buddies while students at Wheaton HS. We played lots of baseball and basketball together and shared lots of good times. After HS, our paths diverged–I went into the Navy and a year later Fred went to KSU. We got together whenever I was home on leave, but then I ended up in California and Fred went into the Air Force. We (my wife Ellen and I) had the opportunity to visit him and Arletta many years ago when he was stationed at Andrews AFB. I last saw Fred just a few years ago at a Wheaton HS alumni banquet. My sincerest condolences to all of Fred's family–and especially Arletta (remember, we were both students at Trowbridge School!). Bob Bennett Bakersfield California WHS – Class of 1951
Fred was a true gentleman, patriot and aviation professional. I had the privilege of working with Fred at SimuFlite during his tenure as an International Procedures Instructor. Our clients respected Fred's experience base and his great instructional skills. He will be missed. Thanks for all you did for us Fred. George Ferito
