Frederick Kenneth Harvey's Obituary
HARVEY, FREDERICK KENNETH Major USAF F. Kenneth Harvey died October 26, 2008 in Dallas, TX. Ken, as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, was born on April 7, 1921 in Tazewell County, VA. He lived in Kingsport, TN for many years after making it through the Great Depression he enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1943 to serve the country he loved. Ken became a flight instructor during World War II and never lost his love for planes and flying. Ken lived the life he preached working hard everyday to do his best job. He forever loved his country. He worked for Eastman Chemical for over 40 years. Ken was a member of the Order of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years and a long time member of the Elks. He was a member of Schreiber Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband to his wife for over 50 years, Arbuta, that he cared for at home until her death in 2004. Ken was a wonderful father and leaves behind four children: Rhonda Treadaway of Austin, TX, Terri Barrada of Corpus Christi. TX, Fred Harvey, Jr. of Farmers Branch, TX and Jeff Harvey of Carrollton, TX. He will also be greatly missed by his 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to his special caregiver, Charles Norman, for his wonderful care and companionship. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 27, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Restland Abbey Chapel.
