Frederick William Smith's Obituary
Frederick William “Fred” Smith was born on July 16, 1925, to Charles C. and Mamie C. (Railey) Smith in Hot Spring County, AR. He departed this life on April 18, 2010, at a hospital in Waco, TX. He was currently residing in Hamilton, TX, but spent most of his adult years in Dallas, TX. Fred is a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U. S. S. Gillette. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise (Baxley) Smith, an infant son, Frederick Ray Smith; two brothers James D. Smith and Charles Wayne “Cotton” Smith. He is survived by a son, Donald Wayne (Jennifer) Smith, of The Colony; a step-son, Eddie Baxley, of Fort Worth; a step-daughter, Darlene Stubb of Garland; two sisters Wanda (Eugene) Williams of Malvern, AR, and Mildred (James) Stitz of Benton, AR; two sisters-in-law Barbara Smith of Malvern, AR, and Wanda Koonce of Hamilton, TX; six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Yvonne Kelley of Hamilton, TX. Pallbearers are nephews Wayne Smith of Malvern, AR, Charles Stitz of Benton, AR, Ronnie Koonce of Forney, TX, Silas “Bud” Railey of Mesquite, TX; great-nephew Paul Railey of Mesquite, TX along with Mark Eicke of The Colony, TX. Reverend Josh Bingham, pastor of Abundant Life Church of Hamilton, TX, will officiate. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX, Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
