Fredrick Douglas Fulbright's Obituary
Freddie asked God to give him everything so that he could enjoy life, But instead, God gave Freddie life so that he could enjoy everything. Fredrick Douglas Fulbright, a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, and his greatest role of all, a father. He was a burst of light, warmth, and wit that passed away on July 18, 2021, at 34 years old. He was a natural provider and protector, starting with his baby sister, Camille, and his wife, Erica, and beautiful daughter Madelyn. Because of his tender heart, all who knew him closest knew him as Freddie Bear. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri but quickly claimed Dallas and the Cowboys as his home in Carrollton, Texas. He had a hustler’s spirit with an ambition to succeed. And succeed, he did.
While residing in Tampa, FL and attending Hillsborough County Community College, he started his first Entrepreneur business launching a four-bay exotic auto detail shop. He continued his education at the University of South Florida USF alongside his sister Camille. He graduated in 2014, securing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He began a successful career in the insurance industry. In 2019, he launching a new insurance division at City Credit Union in Dallas, Texas, providing the same protection and security for those in the community that he strived to provide for his family.
While Freddie was filled with love for everyone around him, he had no greater love than his family, especially his daughter Madelyn. Every ambition he had shifted to her from the day she was born. All that knew him or saw him with Madelyn would describe him as a PHENOMENAL FATHER! In addition, he was a man of loyalty and commitment to friends and relationships.
Freddie was a true Virgo, a hard-working perfectionist. He loved his closest friends of more than twenty years, Bill Isemann, Bryan Lockhart, and Dorean Flowers (God Father to Madelyn). He pushed them to be the most excellent versions of themselves. They always supported and challenged each other along the way. Freddie would want everyone to remember to lead with love, family, hard work, and laughter!
Freddie adored and admired his sister Kumari. During the last and final conversation with Kumari, Freddie told her he was growing closer to God and learned he was not in control. God is in control.
Fredrick was preceded in death by his Grandmother(s) Ima Jean Ethington & Anne Lee Fulbright, Grandfathers Grady Lee Jackson, WG Ethington, & Fred Fulbright.
