Freeman Curry's Obituary
Freeman Curry was born December 21, 1934, in Grenada, Mississippi to the parents of James Gilbert Curry and Annie Lee Curry. He was raised in a Christian home. He confessed Christ at an early age and attended with family the Springdale Baptist Church. He moved to Dallas in the early 50’s and started working in construction as a mechanic and welder. He worked for Uvalde for 22 years and for Auto Convoy for 25 years where he retired. On July 11, 1959, he married Birdie Bernice Jones and out of this union two sons were born. Freeman was a people person, made friends easily and had an affectionate smile. He was loved and respected by family and friends alike and was the “go to” person in the family. On July 30 at 5 am, Freeman passed from this life to the next life. He is preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Willie Curry, Charlie Ben Curry, Murlee Curry, Charlie Drew Curry, Leatha Lee Jones, Delphia Mae Noel, Margaret Griffin and Bernice Curry. He leaves behind his loved ones, his wife of 58 years Birdie Bernice Curry and sons Roderick (Sharon) Curry, Andre (Ginger) Curry, granddaughter Annie Grayce Curry, three step-grandchildren, Tim (Carla) Logan, Christina (Marcus) Rowe, Tyrone (Lauren) Logan, ten step-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service for Freeman will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 11:00 AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
