Gail Rose Witten's Obituary
WITTEN, GAIL ROSE 74, passed away peacefully in Plano, TX on October 20, 2012 surrounded by her family and dogs. She was a resident of Houston, TX for over 40 years and later moved to Plano, TX where she enjoyed spending quality time with family and quilting with friends. Witten was born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 7, 1938. She graduated high school from Northwest Classen. She attended college at Oklahoma City University where she was active in Alpha Chi Omega. Later, she married and moved to Texas. Through her life, she enjoyed golf, dancing, remodeling homes, showing horses, and training dogs. During her later days, she enjoyed FUMC Plano’s Quilts for Kids where she made many quilts for sick children. But her true passions were her family and dogs. Witten was preceded in death by her father, Walter W. Rose and mother, Miriam S. Rose. She is survived by her son, Roy Witten, Jr of Plano, wife Staci and daughter Christine; daughter, Sandra Witten (whereabouts unknown) and son, Stefan; sister Deborah Hamilton of Oklahoma City, OK, and husband Tom; brother, Michael Rose of Reston, VA and wife Sylvia; her loving pup, “Mandy”, and her beloved friends. Family will receive visitors from 12-2 pm on Friday, October 26 with interment following at 3 pm at Restland Memorial Park located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas. There will be a Celebration of Life Service honoring Gail at 3:30pm on Saturday, October 27 at the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Plano located at 3160 East Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas.
