Gale Nelson Brown's Obituary
Gale Nelson Brown, 73, died Friday, September 16, 2016, with his loving wife by his side in Plano, Texas. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Pat, daughter Tonya and son-in-love Lee Clanton, grandchildren Stephanie and husband Jack Lacy, Taylor and fiancé Ruby Grasty, Hollie and husband Bart Sirman, and seven precious great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hope, Preston, Nathan, Tyler, Seth, and Hannah Lee. Gale was born December 9, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert Henry and Grace Ingram Brown. His family moved to Austin, Texas when he was three. Gale served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School. He served his country with a strong sense of duty, great honor, and pride. His experiences provided many memorable moments and wonderful stories he enjoyed sharing. Gale was married into the loving family of Pat and her two children, Kevin and Tonya in 1969. Gale’s passion for everyone and everything he believed in was evident in his words and actions. Every person he met became a friend. He was grateful for the relationships with his insurance clients and their families, his coffee shop family, his church family, and his extended family. Each of these families provide him valuable relationships, they were his “investments”. Gale was a longtime member of Preston Highlands Baptist Church where he served in many capacities, where his favorite was serving as his Sunday school class leader. Gale’s favorite scripture was, 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. In lieu of flowers memorials in Gale’s honor may be sent to Preston Highlands Baptist Church, 17463 Davenport Road, Dallas 75252 or a charity of your choice. Family will receive friends on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Memorial Chapel at Restland. Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, at 2:30 PM at Memorial Chapel at Restland, with Graveside service immediately following at Restland with Dr. John Sypert officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
