Dr. Gary Joe Bailey's Obituary
Gary Joe Bailey, son of Joe and Leta Bailey, died Sunday, July 5th at his home. Born April 28th, 1943 in Dallas, Gary attended Hillcrest High School where he was active in sports, numerous activities and was voted class favorite. He graduated from Texas Tech University and Baylor University College of Dentistry before joining the United States Navy, serving as an officer and dentist. In his element stargazing at his farm or enjoying a cigar in the “Cantina”, Gary loved sharing stories and laughter with family and lifelong friends. He is survived by his 98 year old mother, Leta; wife, Suzanne; son, Justin and wife Tracey; son, Collier; daughter, Blythe; sisters, Joleta and husband Bob Schucany, Susan and husband Wes Gilpin, all of Dallas; brother, Ken and wife Shellie of Harrison, Arkansas; 7 nieces and nephews and 6 grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11th at 1:00pm in the Great Hall at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hillcrest High School Community Foundation in honor of Hillcrest graduate, Gary Joe Bailey c/o Tom Daulton at 1901 N. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75201. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
