Gary Michael Calvert's Obituary
Gary Calvert of Dallas, TX passed away at his residence on Sunday morning, September 27, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel of Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas, TX. The service will be performed by Pastor Todd Lasseter of Trinity Baptist Church with an opportunity for guest to share memories of Gary’s adventurous life. Gary was born in Fort Worth, TX to Claude and Vera Calvert on November 17, 1953. He married the love of his life, Debbie Parrish, on May 30, 1983. Sadly, she passed in 1989 and he never remarried. Gary was respected as a man who did not try to impress others and who spoke his mind despite the consequences. “He either liked you or he didn’t.” Despite his tough exterior he held a soft spot in his heart for his children and grandchildren. Being a grandfather was the proudest experience of his life. Gary is survived by his children, Michael Calvert and Brandi Madden, their spouses, Chelsea and Dave, his grandchildren; Eric (7), Jacob (5), Bentley (5), Lexi (22 mo) and Conner (7 wks) and his sister Jana Calvert Curtis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Vera, his wife Debbie, and his sister Melinda. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that contributions be sent to assist with expenses related to Gary’s passing. Please send any contributions to Brandi Madden or directly online at https://www.gofundme.com/zg5bqw8k. For the mailing address please email Brandi at calvert.brandi@ymail.com, thank you. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
