Gary Lynn Chapman's Obituary
Gary Lynn Chapman, age 80 was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born on March 15, 1944, in Ft. Worth Texas to Jimmie Katherine Neff Chapman and Herman Rigby Chapman. He died on September 3rd, 2024, in Allen Texas. Gary graduated from North Garland High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from The University of North Texas with a degree in History in 1967. He met his wife Linda at the University of North Texas, and they married in March of 1964. Gary taught History at Garland High School for several years before working at GE for over 30 years in accounting and retiring in 2001. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Jimmie Chapman and his sister Paulette Chapman Blake. He was survived by his wife Linda Chapman, son John Chapman, daughter in law Mindy Chapman, granddaughters Morgan and McKenna Chapman, nephews Greg and Doug Blake and niece Trisha Carey.
Gary loved attending both of his granddaughter's soccer and volleyball games and watching them cheer at the Allen Eagle Football games, spending time with his family over the holidays and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Gary had a very special relationship with his only son as he enjoyed one on one time sharing his love of superhero movies and especially the Star Wars series of films. He was beloved by friends and family for his sense of humor, devotion to his family and love for his wife Linda.
