Gary Dean McColley's Obituary
Gary Dean McColley was born August 11, 1944 in Denison, TX and passed away May 7, 2015 in Dallas, TX at the age of 70. Gary was preceded in death by mother Ruth Starkey, father John C McColley and son Timothy Dean McColley. Gary is survived by wife Wilda M. McColley; son Jeff McColley and wife Brittany; daughter Ashley Adkins and husband Patrick; daughter, Candi Mangelsdorf and husband Tom; son Brian May; brother Jack McColley and wife Geneva; grandchildren Wyatt and Barrett McColley; Chloie, Meghan and William Mangelsdorf; Parker Adkins and a large extended family including co-workers who felt like family to Gary. After graduating from Sherman High School, Gary moved to Arlington, Texas and began attending UTA Arlington where he received his BA in accounting. He began his career with tenure at Trinity Equipment and successfully transitioned into the broadcasting industry with Bonneville Broadcasting (KZPS) before retiring from Salem Communications (KLTY) in 2015. Gary was always liked and respected by his peers due to his dedication to his chosen craft. An avid motorsports fan his entire life, Gary realized a personal dream when he became a licensed NHRA driver after building a car with his nephew. Gary will be missed by many, many people who felt the kind and loving efforts of a man who always tried to be his best at all times. He is in Heaven now with God, his son and his parents. Rest well Gary and Godspeed. The service for Gary McColley will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243
