Gary Lee Osborn's Obituary
Gary Lee Osborn, age 77, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in Richardson, Texas surrounded by his wife and family. He was born April 14, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri to James Thomas Osborn and Ruby Minger Osborn.
He attended school in Garland, Texas. In middle school he was an avid baseball player. He graduated from Garland High School in 1963. He was a 1969 graduate of East Texas State University-Commerce where he received a business degree and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. At SMU he received a Master of Business Administration degree in 1977. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves.
Gary then began a long career in new home sales. He sold homes for Fox and Jacobs, Lennar, Drees, and Highland Homes. His retirement was in 2008.
He started a weekly Breakfast Group in 2010 for his 1963 class members. The group soon grew to include friends in other classes from GHS and special friends who did not graduate from GHS. He also served on the board of the Garland Alumni Association.
Gary loved to travel. After his marriage to Judy Coldwell in 2015, his travels included Alaska, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, the Mediterranean, Mexico and many states. Gary was proud to have visited all 50 states.
Gary will be remembered for his great personality, compassion for others and loyalty to his friends. He always enjoyed being with his friends and family and having a good time. He was “a great guy”!!!
We will remember him always and miss him greatly!
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a grandson.
Survived by his loving wife, Judy Coldwell Osborn, son Kyle (Wendi), daughter Shannon (Richard), brother Ron (Harriett), cousins Lavonne, Linda, Sandi, and Joan, grandchildren, Shelby, Cheyenne, Chloe, Sarah, J.J., Hope, Michael, Stephen, nephew Derek and niece Shawn.
Family will begin to welcome guest for a visitation on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 2:00pm at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243. Committal service will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Section Faith.
