Gary Dewayne Shields' Obituary
Gary Dewayne Shields, 80, a retired attorney and Naval reservist, was born in Dallas TX on June 7, 1944. He grew up in Dallas, graduating from WH Adamson High School in 1962. He later attended Arlington State University (which later became UT Arlington) and ultimately obtained his law degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Gary practiced law in North Texas for many years and was also proud of his service in the US Navy, where he served full-time, then eventually as a reservist. Gary died on February 27, 2025, in Azle, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Cleman Shields and Lometa Maxene Hall Shields, as well as his sister, Barbara Elaine Barnett, and her husband Donald Baker Barnett. Gary leaves behind Amanda T Stout and Garrison Paul Shields, his daughter and son with his first wife. He also leaves behind his second wife, Margaret “Peg'e” Jeppson and her children Jennifer Milner and BJ Jeppson. He also leaves behind his niece, Dawn Barnett Ward. He also leaves behind his grandsons Robert Bruce Harris and Marlin Stout IV.
Inurement will be at 1:00 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on March 20, 2025.
