Gena Marie Graf's Obituary
We are deeply heartbroken and still in disbelief at the loss of our mom. How did we come to say goodbye to such an extraordinary woman so soon? My mother was the epitome of unconditional love, always embracing us with an open heart regardless of our choices. Her generosity knew no bounds; she would give her last penny to those in need. She never judged anyone, she always tried to understand someone for who they really were.
Mom was vibrant and adventurous, always eager to try new things, including one of her final meals—octopus, which she had long wanted to try. She faced more challenges than anyone ever should, yet her strength remained unwavering. Even as she battled cancer, she would always try to ease our worries while enduring her own pain. While she was sick she would call and check on everyone else to make sure they're ok, that's just the selfless type of person she was.
Her fight was driven by her love for us, and it broke her heart to leave us behind. After not eating for 21 days from the blockage, then the surgery she could never fully regain her strength back. It was a struggle for her to keep from getting malnourished. When doctors gave us the devastating news last month that it would be less than a year, we could hardly believe it would come so quickly. She had depleted so much from the hospital stays. In her last days she was never alone. I held her hand until her last breath,
Words cannot fully capture the beauty and depth of her spirit. She was cherished and loved by so many and will be profoundly missed.
