Geneva Inette Thigpen Butt's Obituary
Geneva Inette Thigpen Butt peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2024. She was born on June 30, 1933, to her loving parents, Thomas Thigpen and Anna Little Thigpen. She had three older siblings that preceded her in death, Donald Thigpen, Connie Doris Thigpen Couperthwaite, and Eugene Thigpen. The love Geneva's parents showed her carried with her throughout her life. Her passion in life was caring for her family and friends. She was married to Charles Butt, Jr. on July 1, 1956, until his passing on September 14, 2003. They had three daughters that she adored, Jimmie Butt, Denise Butt Kasper, and Kathleen Butt Rainey. She treasured Kathleen's husband, James Rainey. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had three grandsons, Glenn Kasper, Stephen Rainey, and Jason Rainey, and a granddaughter, Kaytlin Tucker, the widow of Glenn Kasper. She also had two great-grandsons, Harlan Kasper and Damon Kasper. She held dear her in-laws, James Couperthwaite, Gayle Foster Thigpen, and Francis Butt. She also had many treasured nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those that had the privilege of knowing her. The memorial celebration of her life will be held on March 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home's Wildwood Chapel with graveside service and reception to follow.
