Last Friday I lost a long-time dear friend. I first met her when I moved to Pleasant Grove in the sixth grade. Over the years we have talked regularly and recently rarely a week past that we didn't talk at least once. I listened as she spoke of her grandkids, shared her hurt when she lost a son, and in recent days fretted with her as she told me of the hospital and Doctor visits. I worried as she said, "I don't feel right." I listened as she told me what a blessing her daughter-in-law Kathy was and the care she provided. We often shared the importance of and the love we had for our dogs and her cat. Since Saturday when I heard the news I have thought of the times I would come to Dallas as we would share a meal, laugh about old times. Geneva was a special person, the friend I had that everyone should have. I miss her and know that she will always be in my memory. I pray for her family, friends, and the blessing of being close to her.
