Geneva A Turbevillle's Obituary
GENEVA ALLEN EASLEY TURBEVILLE, age 98 from Garland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in Forney, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1925 in Denton, Texas to her parents, Mr. Will Allen and Mrs. Gladys Allen. Geneva was the second oldest of five children.
She married Olon Ferrell Easley in July, 1944 and they had two children, Olon passed away in 1965.
Geneva married Buddy Franklin Turbeville on June 16, 1967 and they had one child, Buddy passed away in 2018.
Geneva attended High School at Denton High School in Denton, Texas and graduated in 1943. She had a long career with the Internal Revenue Service in their Criminal Investigation Unit.
Geneva was a long-time member of Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland, Texas, where she also served as the Church Secretary. She loved praising her Lord, reading her Bible, loved going to Church and socializing with her fellow congregation. Geneva spent a lifetime inspiring her sons that Sunday was a day to honor God and attend Church services.
In addition to her beloved Church, Geneva loved to sew and crochet, loved her trips to Branson with Buddy. She also enjoyed cooking on holidays for her family and getting everyone together. Geneva made the best homemade Meringue Chocolate Pies.
She is preceded in death by: Olon Ferrell Easley, Will Allen and Gladys Allen, Earl Allen, Carl Allen, and Buddy Franklin Turbeville.
Geneva will be remembered by her family and loving children: William Ferrell Easley and wife, Sonja Darlene Easley of Waxahachie, Texas; Phillip Michael Easley and wife, Trena Monee’ Easley of Forney, Texas; and Rick Franklin Turbeville and wife Rebecca Turbeville of Fate, Texas; her two Step-Daughters, Becky Region and husband, Mark Region of Hideaway, Texas; Dianna Sundstrom and husband, Dick Sundstrom of Lewisville, Texas; her sisters, Wanda Louise McDonough and Jessie Ruth Cantrell; her three grandsons, Nigel Ferrell Easley, Colin Jay Easley, and Nathan Michael Easley and two granddaughters, Jessica Patricia Turbeville and Alysa Morgan Turbeville; and three step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter; 12 Great-Grandchildren.
Geneva's life will be celebrated in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
