George Ward Beaudry's Obituary
George Ward Beaudry, passed from this life into eternal life on November 28, 2017, age 76. He was born May 23, 1941 in Needham, MA, but Ward was a proud Texan, who grew up in Fort Worth, but settled in Dallas to practice law in 1969 after living briefly in Laguna Beach, California after his return from Vietnam.His Paschal High School sweetheart, Janet McClure Beaudry, preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by his son, Frank A. Beaudry of Collierville, TN, his wife Cindy, and three grandchildren, Hudson, Anna Katherine, and Walker, his brother Bruce Beaudry of Ft. Worth, and his wife Diana Couch Beaudry.An avid cyclist, Ward annually rode in Team Leukemia events in the DFW area as well as the MS 150. He was also a participant for several years in America’s Most Beautiful Ride at Lake Tahoe and The Triple Bypass in Colorado.Ward received his JD at the University of Texas in 1963. He practiced law for almost 50 years in the Dallas firm Winn Beaudry & Winn. He was a Life Fellow in the Dallas Bar Foundation, State Bar of Texas Fellow, and an expert in Elder Law.He served in the USMC in both active duty and in the reserves. He has been an active member of the Lake Highlands Exchange Club for many years, and is a founding member and long standing Board member of Family Compass (Formerly EXCAP Center).In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Family Compass; Leukemia Society; or St. Cloud St. Bernard Rescue, McKinney.There will be a memorial service held on Monday, December 4, 2017 beginning at 2:00PM, at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
