George Wayne Bolling's Obituary
George W. Bolling went home to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the age of 86 years old. George was born September 13, 1930, in Van Buren Arkansas the son of Mary J. Flowers and Charles J. Bolling. George grew up in Van Buren, Arkansas with four sisters and four brothers. His brother Gerald was in the Navy and was serving in The USS Arizona when Pearl Harbor bombed and did not survive. George finished high school and joined the Navy in the summer of 1949. He was in the military when the Korean Conflict broke out in 1950. He finished his tour of duty from with the military in 1953. George met Patricia A. Roberts, in 1953, and they married June 6, 1954, at First Baptist Church, Fort Smith, Arkansas. They had three children, Leslie, Lisa, and Lance. Leslie passed away on February 28, 2014. His wife Julie preceded him in death on August 8, 2009, they had two sons, Jason and Justin. Their daughter, Lisa lives here in Dallas with her mother. Lance and his wife, Carla of Haddonfield, New Jersey have three sons, Jared, Jack, and Joshua. After college graduation, George was employed by the Standard Oil Company. They moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1963, and he worked for the Ohio Rubber Company. He and Patricia decided to move back to Dallas, Texas where he worked for the Dallas Police Department for several years. He was also employed by HCB Company and was in Charge of Traffic and Security. They decided to move to this area and became members of Heights Baptist Church. His favorite past time was gardening and took pride in his garden and spent many hours working in it. George became a Christian at an early age and was baptized by his Rev. Bruce McIver when they were living near the Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Besides his wife, son, daughter, and daughter in law and five grandsons, he is survived by his sister, Rose Mary Rice who lives in Longview, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service for George will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
