George T. Jackman's Obituary
George T. Jackman was born on May 19, 1929 to Twyford George Jackman and Kathleen Elizabeth Jackman in Houston, Texas. He married his wife, Jean, of 41 years on April 21, 1981. He passed away after a brief illness on May 28, 2022.
George lived a full life including obtaining his bachelors degree and then his MBA at the University of Texas at Austin. He remained a proud “Texas Ex” Alumni his entire life after graduation. He was a professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, Collin College, and at his own real estate college in Richardson, Texas. He was a published author of real estate textbooks, as well as multiple songs in the genres of country and gospel music, as well as owning his own publishing company. Additionally, he was a pharmaceutical rep in his younger years, he built homes, was a real estate broker, loan officer, and worked with the Department of Housing and Urban Development from whom he finally retired in 2010. He began active duty with the United States Army in 1952, followed by service in the reserves, and retiring in 1989 after achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He loved cats, Christmas trees, UT Austin, and the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father, Twyford Jackman, his mother, Kathleen Jackman, and his brother, Thomas Jackman. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jackman, stepchildren, Kathy Galt, William (Keeko) Liddell, and Joseph (Charlie} Liddell, as well as his step grandchildren Joseph Liddell, Timothy Liddell, Amanda Liddell, Kasie Liddell, Cheyenne Liddell, Kiley Liddell, Kayla Reinert, Kaeylynn Liddell, and Brianna Galt, as well as his nephew, Keith Brewster, and numerous step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at noon, followed immediately at 1pm with a graveside service at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
