Mr. George Waldo Lubke Sr.'s Obituary
George Waldo Lubke, Sr. went home to be with the Lord April 30, 2015. He was born February 19, 1922 in St. Louis, MO. George is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Edith Lubke; and sister, Kay Bankhead. George graduated from Washington University in 1947. A veteran of World War II, he served as a first Lt and bombardier in the 47th bomb group of the USAAF. He was awarded three air medals for his service. George was a professional engineer and after a long career with Motorola, he founded Horizon Comm Sales in 1968. He loved playing bridge with his wife, Billie and was known for his sense of humor and his love of animals. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. George is survived by his wife, Billie McMillan Lubke of 69 years; four children, Robin Keppers, Carol Haynes, Nancy Temple, and George Lubke, Jr.; and their spouses, Steve Keppers, Dr. William Haynes, David Temple and Martha Lubke and eleven grandchildren. Family will receive friends on May 5, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on May 6, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Following the service at 2:30 PM there will be a celebration of George’s life at Sunrise Senior Living of Plano, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VNA Hospice at VNATexas.Org or Operationkindness.org.
