George William McFalls' Obituary
George William “Bill” McFalls, 92, of Mesquite, TX passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Bill was born in Chattanooga, TN, April 14, 1928, the son of Holt and Alice (Lawson) McFalls. He married Joyce Fern (Copeland) on July 26, 1952 in Kaufman, Texas, who remains, to this day, the love of his life.
A longtime resident of Mesquite, Bill was totally devoted to his family, always providing for and putting his family first. They affectionately called him PawPaw.
He was a fair man and had the respect of everyone who knew him. He had a passion for cars that stemmed from running moonshine in the foothills of TN. He loved putting his ’55 Chevy in all of the local car shows and has numerous trophies to show that it was ‘best in class’, just like him. He was not afraid to get his hands dirty, and he gave everything he did, his very best.
Bill was strong as an ox, had the memory of an elephant, a green thumb, an uncanny sense of direction, the love and loyalty of animals and children, an appreciation of country music and a good attitude. His will was strong, and his advice was sound.
He was preceded in death by his parents Holt and Alice (Lawson) McFalls.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce; his son Billy Harold McFalls and daughter in-law Joni Brier; his two grand daughters Nicole Hale and Kacy Shafer (Michael) of Georgia; and four great- grandchildren: Courtlyn Alysha, Brooklyn Emma, Colt Lawson and Jackson Holt.
