Bunny? Somehow that is fitting. I know George for over 25 years. I have never known anyone so knowledgeable and so willing to share his knowledge. At one point in our careers George actually worked for me – yet I think I was working for him as he brought me along, a young manager, who still had a lot to learn. George and I played golf together and even though he was the most patient teacher imaginable I really never got the hang of the game – we enjoyed playing together and had a lot of laughs. Standing on a tee box on a course in North Carolina George looked around carefully and stated "There is no way you can get in any water from here". I promptly sliced the ball two holes to the right and into the water. George's only comment was "I have never seen anybody hit the ball so far right in one swing". He never lost his sense of humor nor did he ever give up on me. In recent years we were still working with each other on various projects. We met either in Dallas on Montreal and on each visit I learned something new about the business. He never stopped teaching. At some point during each meeting he would give me a list of books to read. I read every book George ever suggested and found value in each one. I miss that old rascal and I know many others do as well. All of us are fortunate to have had George in our lives. I know we are all the better for it. To the family I send my sincere condolences and my thanks for sharing him with me.

My Keko. Though many of you saw him as George – the neighbor, the golfing buddy, the coworker, or the old friend – to me, he was Keko. Keko was a pro-golfer, a champion poker player, a marvelous magician, a Santa of socks, and an acclaimed film critic. My fondest memories of him gravitate in the direction of mind boggling card tricks that I wish I had learned the secrets to, thrilling poker games that I won more often than I likely deserved, and movies – after all of which he simply said "Best movie I ever saw." It was one of his catch phrases that even I find myself using after catching a flick with friends. This is just one of the many things that Keko left for me that perhaps I am only noticing just now. It is part of a collection that also includes half of my sock collection, my new-found affinity for golfing movies, my acceptance and even occasional support of the Dallas Cowboys, certain action movies, antique chalk figures and poker. These things will always connect me to Keko in some way. When I see them or wear them or participate in them, I will think of him – and all of the many times in my childhood that I stood at his waist in awe of what I was witnessing. I regret that I did not know my grandfather better. I regret that I knew so little of his family, of his past, of his true character alongside his friends and other "adults," but I suppose some part of me always wanted to see him as Keko… and only Keko. My Keko.

George was a great friend to me over the 30 years I knew him. We played a lot of golf together and shared a lot of laughs. As much as I enjoyed knowing him, I know he was much more to his family. He was always very loving to Charline, and when talking about his children you could tell how proud he was of them. There are very few people in this world who are as congenial as George was. I will miss his friendship, and I know I will remember him as the years go by.. Dan

We in Starwood, where George lived, have so much to be thankful to him for his years of service to our community. He gave generously of his time and effort to us, and he always did the right thing. I am glad I had the opportunity to know this fine man.
