George Demetrios Pantaze's Obituary
PANTAZE, GEORGE D died peacefully after a brief illness on July 8, 2007. A Dallas native, he served in the Navy as a radar operator during World War II on a ‘baby flattop’ aircraft carrier in the South Pacific war zone. After graduating from SMU business school and a brief career in the business world, he pursued his first love of electronics by joining Texas Instruments, eventually becoming a Field Sales Engineer, opening and managing the Palo Alto, California branch office. Family responsibilities caused him to leave TI because of demanding travel requirements. He joined and eventually headed Western Semiconductor, and later became a consultant to National Semiconductor, guiding a manufacturing process he developed. He returned to Texas, and retired from Sears, Roebuck in its automotive service department. George is survived by his wife Frances, Dallas, daughter Pamela O’Neil, Aiken, South Carolina, stepdaughter Ernestine Fletcher and husband Troy, Quinlan, Texas, step-grandchildren, Jennifer Moore, and husband Tyler, Forney, Texas, Jill Moffitt, and husband Matthew, Dallas, sister Angelina, and brothers Thero and Diamond, all of Dallas. He was predeceased by parents James D. and Cornelia Pantaze, Dallas, brothers Anthony and Alexander, and son Chance. Thanks Mom and Dad for giving us to each other. Prayer services at 7:00 p.m. on July 10 and funeral at 10:00 a.m. on July 11, both at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road, Dallas. Burial at Restland Cemetary, Dallas.
