George Curtis Stephens' Obituary
George Curtis Stephens, aged 81, went to be with the Lord on April 7th, 2025, in Kaufman, Texas. Born on December 5th, 1943, in DeRidder, Louisiana, he spent his remaining childhood years in the surrounding parishes of Louisiana.
For the next 20 years, he spent his time in the rodeo arena, where he enjoyed a long and exciting career as a rodeo clown. His courage and love for the rodeo provided him the opportunity to protect the cowboys and entertain the crowds. After the rodeo circuit, he continued to entertain as a rodeo clown for children’s birthdays, family and friend get-togethers. During the holiday season, he embraced the role of Santa Clause, delighting children and spreading cheer within his community. It is always said “he never met a stranger or forgot the name of anyone he met”.
He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Alma Shell, Elmer Vigil Stephens and brother Frank Norris Hensley
