Mr. George Robert Stephenson's Obituary
George Stephenson, a dedicated Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force, passed away peacefully at Carrollton Regional Medical Center on September 8, 2024. George was born on March 31, 1938, and raised in Houston, Texas. He embarked on his military career immediately after graduating high school. His service took him to various locations, including Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he met and married his beloved wife, Patricia Hall.
Over the course of a distinguished 30-year career, George embraced the challenges and adventures of Air Force life. His final assignment in Dallas, Texas, saw him recruiting doctors and nurses to serve in the Air Force. George retired on April 1, 1984, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and leadership as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia, and their four children: son Robert Gregory Stephenson and his spouse Kathy; son Michael Stephenson; and daughters Sandra Pottorff and her spouse Todd, and Lori Barnett and her spouse John. George's family was his pride and joy, and he cherished the time spent with them. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Natalie Stephenson, Joshua Stephenson, Alexandra Pottorff, Connor Pottorff, Travis Stephenson and Hailey Barnett.
George will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, his love for his family, and his enduring spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of honor and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
