George Lewis Stockwell's Obituary
Passed away on August 9, 2008 after a courageous struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Valley Falls, Kansas on September 24, 1928 to William and Anna (Jaquar) Stockwell. He graduated from Valley Falls High School. He served in the United States Air Force and Reserves. Attending college at Washburn University, he earned a Doctorate of Law, and then became a member of both the Kansas and Texas Bar Associations. By the end of his career, George had become an expert in his field of banking law. He also had experience in real estate lending, grain operations, construction, ranching, international business, negotiation, business analysis, setting up and operating joint ventures. George served on various boards, most notably the Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society, and also taught banking law and spoke at numerous engagements in his field. George is survived by his wife Delia Stockwell of 55 years, children Gayle Stockwell, Craig Stockwell and his wife Charleen, Barbra Judge and her husband Jim, and Dan Stockwell and his wife Regina. George also has 5 grandchildren, Kathryn, Russell, Mary Megan, Lauren and Chase. He is survived by his only brother Delbert Stockwell and wife Marlene of Wichita, Kansas.
