George Martin Teenor's Obituary
George Martin Teenor, or, as everyone knew him, Marty, passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on Saturday May 9, 2020.
Marty was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on August 21, 1962 to Charlie and Marcia Teenor. Not long after, the family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma where Marty and his younger brother Pat grew up. His first job was loading milk trucks at the Foremost Dairy right around the corner from his childhood home. During high school he started what turned out to be a long, successful career with McDonald's Corporation. Upon graduating high school, he moved away to college and attended Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1984. Marty eventually found his way to Dallas, Texas in September 1995 where he lived for the last 25 years.
Though he never performed, he greatly appreciated musical theater but his greatest passion was a 7 day ocean cruise to anywhere. As soon as one was ending he was planning the next. He was happiest with ocean, sun and sand surrounding him.
Marty was a quiet, soulful man with a natural ability to draw people in. Everyone he met was better for it. One look into his eyes and you could see his kind, gentle soul and you just wanted to be a part of it. He was a man of God with a powerful and unfaultering faith and, as a member of the Cathedral of Hope for 24 years, he treated everyone with the love and respect that any good, honest Christian man would. He was loved by all, built powerful friendships and was fiercely protective of those he loved.
Marty met Howard Chant, the love of his life in December 2017. He finally found the happiness he had been searching for his whole life. They were to be married March 26, 2020. When he passed, he was surrounded by those that were closet and dearest to him assuring him he was loved.
Marty is survived by his beloved partner, Howard, his brother Pat (Michelle), nephew Dustin, devoted friends Sean (Kevin), Gary, and Dan, grandmother Charlene, uncle Michael and cousin Carol. Marty is with his mother now whom he loved and missed desperately. He is sitting with her at God's table wrapped in his everlasting love. He is at peace now.
