George D. Thurman's Obituary
Thurman Jr., George D. was born March 16, 1927 in Del Rio, Texas to the late Guida Bruce and George D. Thurman Sr. He passed away on August 29, 2012 at his home in Dallas. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Josephine; daughter, Laura Houston of San Antonio and husband, Greg; son, Mark of Coppell and wife, Angela; Grandchildren, Jon, Mark, Shannon, Haley, Megan, Nick; great-grandchildren, Noah and James. Upon graduation from Cotulla High School, George enlisted in the US Navy. He graduated from Texas A&I University and worked in the insurance industry for 30 years. George loved people, animals and being on the land, a passion that he enjoyed throughout his life. George was loved by many and his smile and firm handshake will be missed by all. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Road, Dallas 75238, Rev Josef Vollmer-Konig Celebrant.
