He was born on January 14, 1954 to George Van-Ess SR. and Susannah Duker in Accra-Ghana.George married Comfort Django on March 31, 2016 in Dallas, TX.He is survived by his wife, Comfort Van-Ess of Dallas, TX; daughters, Irene Van-Ess of Dallas, TX and Lavasia West of Atlanta, GA; sons, Randall Van-Ess, Derrick Van-Ess, Gerald Van-Ess, Sylvester Van-Ess and George K Van-Ess Jr all of Dallas, TX; sisters, Georgia Van-ess of Accra-Ghana, Christiana Van-Ess of Accra-Ghana, Georglyn Van-Ess of Accra-Ghana, Jennifer Van-Ess of Bremen Germany and Vivian Van-Ess of Dallas, TX; brothers, Victor Van-Ess and Raphael Van-Ess both of Accra-Ghana; parents, George Van-Ess Sr. and Susannah Duker of Accra-Ghana; four grandchildren.A visitation will be held form 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Restland Memorial Chapel with burial to follow.
