Georgia Laverne (Cox) Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Georgia Laverne (Cox) Smith, age 86, of Garland, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Mesquite, Texas. She was born to Mr. George W. Cox and Ms. Lillie B. (Dollarhite) Cox on December 04, 1935, in Lost Prairie of Texarkana in Arkansas. Georgia leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all of the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents: George W. Cox and Ms. Lillie B. Cox; husband: Alvis W. Smith, Jr.; son-in-law: Steve Oughton; four sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her son: Mitchell Smith (Karen) of Leesburg, VA; daughters: Vicki Oughton (Steve) of Lubbock, TX, Patricia Runnels (Bryan) of Oklahoma, and Donna Maggio (Chuck) of Rockwall, TX; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for Georgia Smith on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 9:00AM in Restland Memorial Park.
