Georgia B. Morris' Obituary

And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep Born January 28, 1919 Passed into her Heavenly Fathers House October 24, 2015. Georgia born to a humble rancher and his wife in the Hill Country of Texas, She had a long and productive life serving in the White House as one of Eleanor Roosevelt’s Social Secretaries during World War II. After the war was over she transferred to Dallas, Texas where she was the first Female Auditor in the Federal Reserve System. She then went to work for Texas Distributors and was instrumental in introducing the first central heat and air for the home to the Nation. After her career with Texas Distributors she began a new career at age 50 with Darrell J. Sekin and Company a U.S. Customs House Broker dealing with Importing and Exporting of International Freight, retiring at the young age of 84. Georgia was a very dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church down town Dallas. Active in the United Methodist Women’s Service Guild. Served as one time President of The Norrell Sunday school class. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Willard E. Morris October 5, 1969; her father, George H Brister and her mother, Jessie Fox Brister; brothers, Eugene, A.J. and Roy David Brister; sister in laws, Betty Anne, Virginia, Phyllis, Marty, and Millie Brister. Georgia is survived by her sons, George E. Morris, Jerry N. Morris and daughter, Molli-B Morris; daughter in law, Lynn Morris; grandchildren, Tia Marie Hughes, Kayla Jean Chambers, Andrew R. Reiman, and Sarah Anne Reiman; grandson in law, Jonathan Hughes, Thomas Chambers and granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Reiman; great-grandchildren, Luke Hagan, Alyssa Hughes, Alexander Hughes, Xander R. Reiman, Zachary R. Reiman; brothers, Rayford, Emerson, Jackie, Vernon and Dewayne Brister; sister, Mary Evelyn Herman; sister-in-laws, Helen, Gladys, Charlene, and Judy Brister; brother-in-law, Bill Herman. Georgia is survived by a large and loving family of nieces and nephews. Viewing for Georgia Morris will be at the Restland Cemetery Dallas, Texas Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Service in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM With transport to San Saba,Texas following the service. There will be a viewing for Georgia at Blaylock Funeral Home San Saba, Texas Thursday, October 29, 2015 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with services Friday October 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Colony Cemetery immediately following. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
