Georgie Goodwyn Quattlebaum's Obituary
Georgie was 87 years old when she was called home by our Lord and Savior. She was born October 4, 1920 in Richmond, VA to Nathaniel Boswell Goodwyn and George Frostick Goodwyn, and died October 25, 2007. She is predeceased by her parents and sisters, and her beloved husband, Richard M. Quattlebaum. She is survived by her children, Richard M. Quattlebaum, Jr. and wife, RoseMary; Sara Jean Q. Smith and husband, Laurin; Ruth Helen Q. Turpin; grandchildren, Kim Marie Good and husband, Michael; Richard Heron and wife, Laurie; Brian Smith and wife, Christel and David Turpin and wife, Angela, and seven great-grandchildren. All her life Georgie loved music. She played the piano, organ, and sang. She put these talents to use at the Officers Club in Lages Azores, and to many years of service at Park Cities Baptist Church in Sunday school, 50 Plus, in the church choir and many other functions, and for her own enjoyment. Mother was the ultimate southern belle right down to the numerous stylish hats she loved and wore to church on Sundays. She was the “hat lady.” She loved people, loved to travel and take cruises, and loved her husband and children passionately. She had an unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ. Mother now sings with the Heavenly Choir. Mother, we love you and will miss you. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30PM Monday October 29, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday October 30, 2007 at Restland Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 1:30PM in the Ellis Chapel at Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Park Cities Baptist Church Music Department
