Gerald Curson Hook's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Curson Hook, 93, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was born March 28, 1916, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Herbert Curson and Alice Maud (Hargreaves) Hook. Jerry was a U S Navy Flight Instructor in World War II and achieved the rank of Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve. He spent more than 20 years as a machinist at Texas Instruments. He was a member of the Dallas Model A Ford Club, Lone Star T’s (Model T Ford) Club and the Dallas Happy Warriors Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Frieda Schwendler Hook. Jerry is survived by a son, Gerald Hook, and his wife, Connie, of Russellville; daughter, Cindie Deasey, and her husband, Pat of Garland, TX; grandchildren, Jon Hook and is wife, Kara, of Shawnee, Kan.; Justin Hook and his wife, Susan, of Russellville; Beth Brant and her husband, Charles, of Dallas, Texas; and Vanessa Huynh and her husband, Star, of Murphy, Texas and his great grandson, Coleman Hook of Shawnee, KS Funeral Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Interment will follow immediately after services at Restland Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Jerry’s name to either of these are two organizations that we’re very close to Jerry’s heart.
