Gerald "Jerry" Finaldi's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Finaldi passed away on Tuesday, October 18th at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, Texas. Jerry was born to Carmen and Helen Finaldi of Buffalo NY in 1937.
Jerry met Judy Allen, the love of his life, during the summer of 1957. They married in 1960 and raised three children. Judy preceded Jerry in death after 50 years of marriage.
Jerry is survived by his sister Connie, children Trent and his wife Kelli, Dorothy and her husband Jim Traub and Jennifer Johnson and her husband Brad. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Hannah, Jackson and Sofia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, he spent a long and successful career in the food service industry. The career was a good fit as Jerry loved to cook, eat and was always planning the next meal. Thankfully he had a metabolism that kept up with his interests!
Jerry was a devoted husband, father and friend. He never shied away from new acquaintances and always had a story, or two or three, to share.
Jerry’s Catholic faith served as a life long guidepost. He was active in the church and the Knights of Columbus.
His family would like to thank the staff at Faith Presbyterian’s T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center for their compassionate care during the last week of his life.
Services will be held in the chapel at St Jude’s Catholic Church 1515 Greenville Ave, Allen Tx on October 21st at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Catholic Charities, Faith Presbyterian Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
