Gerald Allan Kramer's Obituary
Gerald Allan Kramer passed away on December 31, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on November 30, 1936 in San Antonio Texas to Edwin and Lillian Kramer. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School in San Antonio for grades 1-8 followed by 4 years at Brakenridge High School where he was elected Student Council President for his senior year. Gerald then went on to Texas A&M, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. This was followed by 4 years as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force, serving the first year at a remote assignment in Morocco and the following 3 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It was there that he met Jane Chambers, a University of Oklahoma graduate and new first grade teacher from Altus, Oklahoma. Within the following year, Gerald and Jane became engaged, were married in Altus, and remained in Albuquerque where Jane continued to teach and Gerald completed his 4th year with the Air Force. In the summer of 1962, the couple moved to Dallas. Gerald accepted a design engineering job with TEMCO Electronics.
Gerald remained with the same parent company for 36 years. After many mergers and name changes, it became E-Systems and now Raytheon. Prior to his illness, he was active in his church as a lay reader, chalice bearer and school board member. Gerald enjoyed travelling all over the world with family and friends. He was a resident of the Lake Highlands area for over 60 years.
Gerald is survived by daughters Ann Demers (Gary) and Susan Schweizer; grandchildren Sarah, Will, Andrew and Luke; sister Marilyn Schwarz (Robert); brother-in-law Larry Chambers (Cheryl); and numerous nieces and nephews.
