Gerald "Jerry" Maurice Johnston's Obituary
Gerald Maurice Johnston, age 75, passed away March 26, 2018, in Dallas, TX, enveloped in love and surrounded by his devoted family. He was born April 16, 1942, in Waxahachie, TX, to Leonard Maurice Johnston and Mary Loneta Bryant.A graduate of Georgia Tech and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, he was a dedicated IBM-er, giving speeches around the world and living in New York, Texas and Germany. He married his college sweetheart, Leslie, who survives him, and they built an incredible life together for more than 50 years. Gerald was a truly kind man who instilled his love of education, travel and family togetherness in his 3 daughters, Meredith, Emily and Stephanie. An adoring grandfather to Seth, Sonja, Caroline and George, and a proud father-in-law of Stephen and Aaron, he will be deeply missed every day, always.Service will be held on March 30, 2018 at 11 AM at the gravesite at Restland Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy.
