Gerald McNevin Jr.'s Obituary
Age 79, of Richardson, TX died at home on Feb. 22, 2009 after a lengthy illness. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” Mr. McNevin was born July 18, 1929 in Dallas, TX, to Adah Heathcock McNevin and Gerald N. McNevin, Sr., both deceased. Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Lou McLaughlin McNevin; daughter, Mary Leslie McNevin; sister, Eva Hutchison; brother-in-law, Robert H. McLaughlin and wife, Charlotte. Jerry is also survived by the following nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew: Rhonda Hall and husband, Jon; Jennifer Baldauf and husband, Adam; Jamie Hall; Jessie Cross and husband, Adam; James E. Hutchison and daughter, Cory; Leo B. McLaughlin and wife, Amy, and children Kylie and Ian; Marianne McLaughlin and husband, Ben Hirschkoff; cousin, Ed McNevin and wife, Carol and a host of friends. Jerry is a 1946 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Dallas, TX and a 1952 graduate of Southern Methodist University, earning a degree in Finance. Jerry is also a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. The family wishes to thank Dr. William Mania, Dr. John Harney, the Century Hospice team and Home Instead care giver, Gerald Garner for their compassion and excellent care. The family also thanks the First Baptist Church Richardson family, and Rev. David Bradley for their love and support. Visitation will be 7:00-8:30 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 3:30 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
