Geraldine Sears Beddow's Obituary
June 28, 1916 ‘ March 28, 2008. Born in Dallas but raised and schooled in Corsicana, TX. She attended SMU before World War II, then assisted her bookkeeper father at the Corsicana Cotton Mill. On July 27, 1942 she married Robert W. Beddow one day after he graduated from Army Officer Candidate Training at Fort Benning, GA. She was a homemaker whose hobbies included many artistic and creative endeavors, as well as, collecting in the American Country and Shaker style. As an accomplished artist herself, Geraldine has blessed family and friends with many oil and watercolor paintings and folkart wooden sculptures. The family will forever be grateful to Geraldine’s caregivers: Eula Willliams, Rose Broadnax, Cheryl Standard, Mable Armstrong and Dicie Sumlin for their sincere love, compassionate care and loyalty of our dear Gerry. This gentle southern lady will be missed by all who were touched by her life. Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert W. Beddow; parents, Errol C. and Sudie K. Sears; and sister, Evelyn Sears King. Survived by her brother-in-law, Judge Bill J. Stephens; nieces and nephews, Karen B. Beddow, Judge Gary R and Sherrie Stephens, Billy C. and Susan Stephens, Sharon and Keith Kirby, Lisa and Jay Phillips, Stephen Klepper; many great nieces and nephews and several great-grand nieces and nephews. Arrangements are pending.
