Geraldine Dillon Marshall's Obituary
Geraldine Dillon (Gerry) Marshall has gone to be with the Lord on July 16th, 2009. Gerry was born October 6, 1930 in Tylertown, Mississippi to Ralph Earl & Ava (Big Mama) Dillon. She died peacefully after a short battle with lung damage. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ada (Blue) Fraone, William Dillon & Virginia Fortinberry) and her husband, W.R. (Bill) Marshall. After graduating from Tylertown High School, she attended Business School and earned her degree in Administration. She began her career in Jackson, MS as an Administrative Assistant. After meeting her husband Bill, Gerry spent most of her life in Dallas, TX as “CEO” of the household as a homemaker tending to the home and her two sons. She was an active member of the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen (Wives Group), Preston Hollow Elementary, Franklin Jr. High & Hillcrest High School PTA and Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Upon the passing of her husband, Gerry went back to work in retail sales with JC Penney, then learned the basics of computer training and was hired by Guaranty Bank where she worked in the Legal Department for over 15 years where retired in March of 2006. Gerry was blessed with the gift of hospitality where she loved to entertain. She is survived by her two sons, William R. Marshall, II and Matthew S. Marshall and Matt’s two daughters, McCall E. Marshall & Morgan Ann Marshall. The Wake is scheduled for Monday July 20th, 2009 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home with the funeral services Tuesday July 21, 2009 starting at 3:30pm at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow immediately at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home/Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband Bill.
