Geraldine Montgomery Trizza's Obituary
Geraldine Montgomery Trizza (Gerry) Born on September 26, 1926, in Port Arthur, Texas, Gerry was the only child of Katye M. Rudd and Lloyd Montgomery. She grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas where she enjoyed being the drum major of the high school marching band. She graduated as Salutatorian of her 1944 class and was an honor graduate of TWU (formerly TSCW) in 1948. After working as a dietitian for the SMU Student Union and Reserve Officers Club, she married the love of her life, Dee Joe Trizza in July 1951. After 51 years of marriage, he passed away in 2003. Gerry is survived by her daughter, Deena, and husband Jeff Kretzer, of Chesterfield, VA; son Joe Trizza of Dallas, her beloved grandchildren: Carly Kretzer Funkhouser and husband Jason, Natalie Kretzer, Nikki Trizza Moncrief and husband John, Anthony Trizza, and two great-grandsons, Brayden and Tyler Funkhouser. Gerry was a Deacon of NorthPark Presbyterian Church and an active volunteer in Casa de Vida and other church activities. She volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas for many years. Gerry also leaves behind her bridge and church friends who meant so much to her. Visitation will be at Restland Dallas from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tues., May 30. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 1:30 p.m. at NorthPark Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Brent Barry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to North Park Presbyterian Church, Casa de Vida (9555 Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75231) or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
