Gerda, my friend and neighbor for over fifty years. We were like sisters. We could talk about anything. We shared many memories together. Dining out with her was a real pleasure, especially her favorite which was Chinese. She was an accomplished cook and on special occasions would make fresh crab patties in celebration of a birthday served at the coffee table in den. What a treat! We survived the deaths of children and husbands. She almost made it to 100 years old. What a woman!! I miss her terribly.

Dear Aunt Gerda, I'll miss you and my visits to Dallas. You were a living example of hospitality and love whether sitting at your kitchen table for breakfast (often Euro-style) or even better, a dinner table that was dressed to perfection and equally matched by your five-star meals. You did everything with elegance and style! Thank you for all the wonderful memories and conversations we shared. You lived a remarkable life!
So sorry to hear! I remember babysitting and thinking what a beautiful home she made and what a good cook she was! I left La Risa Dr when I was still pretty young but I have great memories of the neighbors on that street! Greta and Wayland were good friends to my parents and my Mom when my Dad passed.
