Broome, Gerry

Thank you Aunt Gerry, for caring for me. On September 11, 2001 Gerry was going about her day making calls and getting things done, when she was told, " you need to turn on your television, we were just attacked!" So Gerry turned on the television and watched, then she did something very Gerry. She sat down and wrote to me. She picked up the phone and couldn't get through so she did a thing that took away the horror and confusion for a minute she wrote about love and thankfulness. She was full of love and gratitude. I will miss the joy that she shared with me. I will miss her joyful smile and I will miss the laughter, she had a fun laugh. I am so sorry for not being more present in her life. I am so glad I was able to share the fun moments with her that made my life better.

Gerry was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever known. A client and friend for over 40 years, it's hard to imagine this world without her. She was a blessing and joy to know. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. I pray for God's peace and comfort for the family.

Gerry was a woman with elegant "class", generosity, and a caring personality. She was a very brave and strong woman, fighting for years to live another day. Gerry, along with Jack, was a gracious hostess for dinner parties, serving delicious courses from appetizers to desserts. Sometimes the guests even took home a gift from Gerry. Christmas was her time to decorate to the "MAX" with treasures gathered over her lifetime.
Towards the end, as friends tried to help by bringing food, sometimes she'd decline, saying the kitchen was her happy place. She fought the good fight. Blessings!
