Gerry Lyn Hughes Hunt's Obituary
HUNT, GERRY LYN HUGHES, Gerry Lyn Hughes Hunt was born February 24, 1938 to Jerry Linton Hughes and Emma Claire Collins in Abilene, TX and died October 30, 2007. Gerry Lyn married Tom R. Hunt on February 4, 1967 and is survived by him. Gerry Lyn was the proud mother of Rob Hunt and his wife, Melissa and children, Emma and Thomas, and daughter, Lyn Kelley and husband Scott and children Jonathan and Claire. Gerry Lyn was an active and vital partner as secretary treasurer of Hunt Textiles for the past 30 years. Gerry Lyn had a tremendous faith and positive attitude and was an outstanding witness in how to accept and handle adversity with dignity in her 14 year battle with various cancers. Gerry Lyn was a most humble person and her pleasure in life was being able to help others without bringing attention to herself. Highland Park United Methodist Church was a huge part of her life; she loved her church, AYA Sunday School Class and helping with pastoral care projects. She is survived by her brother, Craig and wife, Janice Hughes of Colleyville and brother, Mark and wife, Koreen Hughes of Eldersburg, MD, nieces, Reagan Charney, Meredith and Jessica Hughes and nephews, Blake and Charlton Hughes and special uncle, Dick Collins and wife, Alta of De Coradova Bend, TX, special cousins, Jeannie Verinder and Janice Fenimore, as well as numerous other cousins. A great and genteel lady, wife, mother, and grandmother will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Contributions in her honor can be made to the charity of your choice or to HPUMC Library. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00PM, Friday, November 2, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:30AM, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Restland Memorial Park. Memorial services will be 1:00PM, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas TX 75205, 214-523-2200. Rev. Bill Smith, Rev.
