Gertrude Mildred Kotrla's Obituary
KOTRLA, Gertrude (Trudy) Mildred was born May 30, 1921 and went to meet her Lord on Monday, May 1, 2017. Trudy was born May 30, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She moved to Dallas, TX with her sister Nellie in 1947 where she met the love of her life Adolph Victor (Vic) Kotrla. They were married in 1949 and had three children, Gary Kotrla, spouse Roxana, Mike Kotrla, spouse Kimberly, and Kaye Keliher. Trudy enjoyed traveling with her sister Nellie, the Texas Rangers, her church, and the Christmas holiday season where she made it special for her family. Humor was an important aspect of her life and she enjoyed sending and receiving funny cards on birthdays and holidays. Cooking was something Trudy excelled at from her famous Christmas cookies, German and Hungarian dishes, and enchiladas- she could cook almost any dish. She has five grandchildren, Hallie Heeg, Abbie Lynch, Justin Kotrla, Wade Kotrla, and Andrew Kotrla and five great-grandchildren Emma Kotrla, Jaxon Kotrla, Zoey Lynch, Ella Lynch, and Emmi Kotrla. She is preceded in death by her husband Vic Kotrla. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 11:00 am at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
