Gilbert Colesworthy's Obituary
Clement Gilbert Colesworthy was born November 2, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas. He loved his family, his country, his friends and most of all – his wife Gloria Jeanne – for more than 61 years. He was proud of his service in the Marine Corps and his BBA from Baylor University. Gil worked for Gulf Oil Corporation for 35 years until his retirement. He was a wonderful story teller both writing and recanting tales of fiction and fact from a strong memory of earlier times. Some of you have a copy of his book, Red Birds Don’t Cry. His is survived by his wife Gloria, daughters Robin Hall, Tami Moss, Kip Henn and sons Kevin and wife Jennifer, Val and wife Cindy. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren – Shae Newton, Kacee (Nathan) Harvey, Melissa (Jeremy) Bauman, Chase Colesworthy, Leanna Moss (Stephen Bowles), Marty Moss, Dalton Moss, Betsy Henn, Ned (Keri) Henn and Eric Henn. His legacy will continue through his seven great grandchildren: Hannah, Bennett, Everett, Ellie, Dixie, Keaton and Kaleigh. He is also survived by his beloved sister Billy Meek, sister-in-law Dona Snell and many nieces and nephews. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Clement Gilbert, II and mother Thelma Fay; in-laws Lance and Bertie Hatcher; brother-in-laws Donald Meek and Durwood Hatcher; son-in-law Jessie Hall and nephew Don Meek, Jr. and wife Dianne Meek. He set the bar high for everyone he knew to be the best they could possibly be and was a best friend to many throughout his lifetime. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. May he forever by remembered through faith, love and laughter.
