Gilbert Alphonse Naert Jr.'s Obituary
Naert, Jr. Gilbert Alphonse of Dallas, TX passed away suddenly on January 2, 2013 at 11:08 pm at Medical City Dallas Hospital. He was born March 6, 1949 in St.Louis, Missouri, to Gilbert Alphonse and Betty Lou Naert.Gil is survived by his loving wife, Diana Norton ,his two daughters, Jessica and Mackenzie Naert, and Aunt Betty Jane Martin. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Pamela Domino of Kingsville, TX; brother, William Naert of Findlay, Ohio; sister, Janice Lasater of Odessa, TX; uncle, William Naert of St. Louis, MO, and nieces and nephews, Jason and Jenna Domino, Roger Lasater, Julie (Lasater) Beal, Rachel Whitmore, and Caroline and Jonathon Norton. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Sharon Naert. Gil graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston and the University of Texas at Austin. He was President of Dallas Junior Achievement before retiring to stay home to raise his daughters of whom he was very proud. His family was his passion. Gil was known for being humorous, supportive, worldly, and generous, with a warm smile for everyone he encountered. He really enjoyed playing tennis, investing, cooking, and he cherished his many friends. Visitation was Monday, January 7, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Services wereTuesday, January 8, 2013 at 3 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel, followed by a reception. Memorial contributions may be made to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest or Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.
