Ginger was a loving, kind and supportive help-mate supporting me every step of the way. She has served as the greeter at the Main Street Church of Christ for the past 23 years where she helped the Church feed 3,000 meals a week to the poor and homeless … On December 6th, 2015 Ginger entered Baylor Hospital where she contracted a "super virus" causing her brain and spinal cord to swell giving her ADEM and leaving her paralyzed … since "no good deed goes unpunished" Ginger has suffered for 11 months for all her kindness for the poor. At the end Ginger was ready to graduate from the flesh to the Spirit and ran toward the light … for, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Thank you all for your help, support, cards, calls and most of all for your supportive visits with her … One day Jesus will say to you: "I was sick and ye came unto me" Kelly Lawson

I have indeed been blessed to have Kelly & Ginger in my life for over 14 years. I was always amazed by Ginger's resilience & spirit as she faced one medical challenge after another. Ever cheerful, & more interested in the well-being of others, including me, instead of herself. I have to chuckle a bit . . . her continued attempts at independence, I think, drove Kelly nuts. If he could have put orange cones around her, he would have! But she suffered, without complaint, far too long. I was in the room when Kelly gave his precious soul mate permission to leave him, & go to her rest with the Lord in a place that is even better than Hawaii. I so enjoyed our conversations, her penchant for good food & trying new menu items, how she liked bright colors, & flowers. Ginger loved the Lord, the Main Street Church of Christ Congregation, & that wonderful pup. And she adored Kelly. What a legacy she leaves for all of us in these trying times. Heaven is now "plus 1." We the living grieve her departure from us, but I have faith that Ginger is not only in a better place, she is celebrating her new role as an angel on all of our shoulders. I love & will miss you, Ginger. From a hymn that is very special to me, "Well done my child. Your race is over. You have fought the fight & kept the faith. Enter into the joy of the Lord. Well done, my child. Your crown is waiting. Here is your own reward. Your mansion is just in site. Come into the city of lights. Well done, my child." Rest in peace, dear sweet Ginger. Barbara
